A myth is a made-up story that explains the existence of a natural phenomenon

Such as where thunder comes from or why snow falls from the sky.

We have collated a list of Myths brought to you from the HSE about our every day life at work.

The following Myths are stories that get out of context and often miscommunicated to the work force.

If you have any you want to add, please do not hesitate to send the these in to us for printing.

The Conker MYTH

Yes, you can still play conkers and yes its ok to remember what we did in the 70's

But remember to play safely....

Roald Dahl was a big conker fan. He tells us in his book, 'Roald Dahl, My Year' that,

'...a great conker is one that has been stored in a dry place for at least a year. This matures it and makes it rock hard and therefore formidable.'

The food at Work MYTH

Keep everywhere clean, wash up after yourself and YES you can eat safely at work - Just check with your boss, before eating at your desk though!
